From June to August, the Alpilles come alive beneath the Provençal sun. Olive groves shimmer in the heat, village markets fill the mornings, terraces stay lively into the evening, and long summer days invite you to make the most of your villa and its pool.
July and August are the height of the season, when Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Eygalières and the surrounding villages are at their most animated. The most exceptional villas can book well in advance, making early planning particularly important for summer stays.
Spring & autumn, the Alpilles at their most intimate
Outside the peak summer months, the Alpilles reveal a quieter and more authentic side. The light becomes softer, the countryside takes on rich seasonal colours, and the villages return to a slower Provençal rhythm.
May, June, September and early October are particularly appealing: warm days, beautiful evenings and fewer visitors create ideal conditions for exploring the villages, markets, vineyards and countryside at your own pace.
HOW TO GET THERE
By plane & car
The easiest way to reach the Alpilles from abroad is to fly into Marseille Provence Airport, then continue by car towards the heart of Provence. The journey gradually leaves the Mediterranean behind, leading through vineyards, olive groves and the limestone landscapes of the Alpilles.
By train
Arrive by high-speed train at Avignon TGV or Aix-en-Provence TGV, then continue by private transfer or rental car. As you leave the station, the landscape slowly changes — cypress trees, olive groves, vineyards and stone villages marking your arrival in Provence.
By car
Driving gives you the freedom to explore the Alpilles at your own pace. From Avignon, Aix-en-Provence or Marseille, the roads wind through Provençal countryside towards Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Eygalières and Les Baux-de-Provence.
